Below is a step-by-step guide to update the firmware for your Duke controller.
- Download the firmware that correspond to your controller: Cortana | Black | White
- Open the extracted software.
- Hold down the left analog stick (L3) while plugging in the controller to your PC, continue holding
until the software says “ONLINE”.
- Once online, release the left analog stick and download the firmware.
- Unplug the controller.
- Hold down the 3 middle buttons under the screen (Share, Pause, Menu) and plug the controller in,
wait until the animation on the screen finishes and ends on the Xbox logo.
- Release the 3 buttons.
- Press A.
- Press A again.
- Unplug the controller.
- Plug it back in.

After doing the following, the dead zone on the trigger should be fairly low.
How To Recalibrate The Dead Zone
** No software is needed for this, but it will need to be plugged into a PC.
- Plug in the controller while holding down the 3 middle buttons under the screen (Share, Pause, Menu)
and plug the controller in, wait until the animation on the screen finishes and ends on the Xbox logo.
- Press A. (IMPORTANT: DO EACH STICK ONE AT A TIME).
- Rotate the left stick in a circle, followed by the right stick (IMPORTANT: DO EACH STICK ONE AT A TIME)
- Press in the left trigger 3 times, followed by the right trigger.
- Press A again.
- Unplug the controller.
